Like secretaries, mothers and fathers — who each have special days devoted to them — being a GM (Game Master, Dungeon Master, Referee, etc…) of a role-playing game is often a thankless job. They often spend countless hours plotting, writing, designing, and building elaborate campaign worlds and/or adventures to entertain the players of their gaming group, only to have the player characters decide that they’re going to go down the left corridor instead of the right, travel around the camp of orcs instead of attack, or miss the easiest saving throw in the world during the very first encounter–nullifying the countless hours of hard work put in by the GM.
